Film World Events of 1967
- "Guide" wins Filmfare Award for "Best Picture".

- India makes its first 70mm film. This is "Around the World" starring Raj Kapoor and Rajashree.
- The Tamil actor/ politician M.G. Ramachandran is shot in the neck by fellow actor M.R. Radha. He survives but is badly wounded.

- India becomes self sufficient in the production of black-and-white film stock. However colour film stock must still be imported.
- Mohd. Rafi wins the Filmfare Award for "Best Male Playback" for the song Baharon Phool Barsao from "Suraj". He is also awarded the Padma Shree, by the Indian government.

- Future Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is born in Amritsar, Punjab.(Sept 9, 1967). His given name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia

- Dev Anand wins the "Filmfare Best Actor Award" for his performance of Raju in "Guide"
