SRI KAUSHIK ROY started his initial training in Indian Classical Music at the age 7, under the guidance of his grandmother, Smt. Bharati Chakravarty, who herself, was a noted singer during her time in Kumilla, now belongs to Bangladesh. Later, Kaushik was fortunate enough to learn guitar under a very well known Classical Guitar player, Shri Sujay Bose. Finally, it was Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, who took Kaushik as his disciple.

Kaushik's performance is marked by beautiful Alap, kindly touch to the notes, variations in taans and fast jhalas. His immense concentration brings the life and color of the "Raga" that he is performing. Kaushik has performed at several prestigious concerts in India and abroad.
