Misc. Info: Received training in Hindustani music from Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, and Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri since 1996. Recorded and performed with sarode maestro Ustad Aashish Khan in traditional and fusion settings co-leading the Indo-New Orleans group Shringar. I teach vocal, tabla and instrumental classes in the New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Covington areas. Earned a B.A. in ethnomusicology from UCLA and contributed to Louisiana’s New Populations research program by documenting the maintenance of Indian classical music in Louisiana..
