Neelima obtained her Masters degree in Indian Classical Music from Kanpur University and an 'Alankar' from Gandharv Mandal, Mumbai, India. She continues to further refine and expand her repertoire by training with Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, one of the finest contemporary vocalists based in Mumbai, India. For the last two decades, the academy has trained dozen of students in Gwalior and Atroli Gharana style of gayaki. The AIMS students demonstrate a very strong grasp of the fundamentals of Hindustani Classical Music as has been showcased in their excellent performances at various community events in the area. The academy was recently recognized when Neelima was awarded the Best Musical Training in MA for 2011 by the South Asian viewers of the India New England newspaper.
