
Multitalented artist Kartik Trivedi was born in Gujarat state, India. His educational background is varied. He has four masters' degrees to his credit. In 1975 he won the National Scholarship Award, Graduate School, Dept of Music, Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. In December 1979, he received M.A. Degree in world music from San Jose State University, San Jose California. His piano album "Basanti" was produced in 1980 by Sharda Arts and Record Inc., USA. He performed at the Carnegie Recital Hall on September 13, 1980. In 1968, he conducted his symphonic composition, "Radhika" at the Kulas Music Hall, Cleveland, Ohio.
Kartik has studied music with Ustad Ali Akbar Khan Sahib, Mr. Vasant Rai, and Prof. Lou Harrison.
He enjoys doing paintings. In 1960, he won the National Award (Inter University Youth Festival Competition) in painting from his native land, India. His paintings are in private and public collections around the world. His painting "Welcome Home" has been selected for president Ronald Reagan's private collection at the White House, Washington DC. His other painting "Returning to the Buckingham Palace for Reception" has been selected for the private collection of Prince Charles and Princes Diana of Wales, Buckingham palace, London, UK. His paintings are also in the private collection of Prof. John Kenneth Galbraith, Former US Ambassador to India, and Maestro Zubin Mehta.
